It started with a few phone calls to our office. “Is it true that Planned Parenthood in Delavan is closing?” “Have you heard if Planned Parenthood in Delavan is closed?” “I heard from a friend that Planned Parenthood in Delavan was closing. Have you heard anything?”

Yes! It is true! 

Planned Parenthood in Delavan is CLOSED! 

Google Maps lists them as permanently closed. Considering how difficult it is to get Google to do anything, I was surprised that they were already listed as “PERMANENTLY CLOSED.” There was no public press release from Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin that they were closing the facility in Delavan. When I drove to Delavan to see for myself, I could see clearly signs posted inside the glass door and in the office window of Planned Parenthood that they were closed permanently as of July 31, 2025!

The marquee sign they had up on the side of the building was gone. This is a public picture taken four years ago, showing the sign in place…

Now, you can see that the marquee is gone. 

Why did they close? Could it be because of the many bills Pro-Life Wisconsin has pushed over the years to cut off public funding of contraception to Planned Parenthood? Hard to say. However, if we start to see more abortion referral facilities like this close in their network, I think that would be a safe guess, but only a guess.

As early as 2015, Planned Parenthood had mentioned that pro-life bills like ours would close some of their facilities. Here’s one such article that mentions that Delavan could close, way back in October of that year. Pro-Life Wisconsin helped push 2015 Senate Bill 238 into law as 2015 Wisconsin Act 152 which made it illegal for organizations like Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin to profit off contraceptive drugs through the state Medicaid program.

Congratulations to the pro-life community of Delavan!
